The cycling course of the Granat Xtreme Triathlon is among the most spectacular in the Extreme Series. Athletes ride from the transition area at Lake Millstatt (A) through the Drau Valley toward the Hohe Tauern National Park.
After approximately 80 km, the ascent to the famous Großglockner begins – Austria’s highest mountain at 3,798 meters. The route continues along the breathtaking Großglockner High Alpine Road up to the highest point of the cycling course – the Edelweißspitze at 2,571 meters above sea level (B). From there, athletes return to Millstatt along the same route, arriving back at the same transition area used after the swim (C).
The total distance covers 216 kilometers, with a significant elevation gain of almost 4,200 meters. The route consists of well-paved roads. Several aid stations along the course provide drinks and energy-rich food. Due to the alpine altitude, weather conditions can vary greatly, so athletes must be prepared for temperature fluctuations and sudden changes in weather (details provided in the race briefing).

Dear triathlon enthusiasts,
For organizational reasons, there will unfortunately be no Granat Xtreme Triathlon in 2026. We are still working hard to make the event happen as planned. Our ultimate goal is to create an event that will be memorable, run smoothly, and, above all, meet all safety requirements. We hope that this will be the case in 2027!
As soon as there is any news, we will of course inform you immediately.
Thank you for your interest in this unique event!
Best regards
Your Granat Xtreme Team
